Social networks also facilitate the formation of communities based on common interests, providing a sense of belonging and support. Additionally, mental health organizations and professionals use these platforms to disseminate useful information and resources, and to destigmatize mental health issues.


However, social media also carries dangers for mental health. Overuse has been linked to higher levels of anxiety and depression, especially among teenagers and young adults, due to factors such as cyberbullying and peer pressure. Platforms can be a medium for harassment and bullying, which has serious consequences for the mental health of victims.
